Amy Jade Winehouse, a British singer, whose songs represent an amazing mix of soul, pop and jazz, was recognized by critics as one of the best performers of her country in the 2000s. Amy Winehouse got numerous awards: she won the Ivor Novello Award twice; her debut album “Frank” (2003) was nominated for the Mercury Prize; on February 14th 2007 the singer won a Brit Award for Best British Female Artist; her second album “Back to Black” was nominated for six Grammy Award categories and won five of them, including Record of the Year.
Released on October 20th 2003, the debut album „Frank“ was produced by Salaam Remi. Amy was an authour or a co-author for all songs, except two covers. The album received positive reviews from critics, won two Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artist and British Urban Act, became a shortlisted nominee of the Mercury Prize and achieved platinum sales.
The second and the last album “Back to Black“ was released in the UK on October 30th 2006. It went to the top of the UK chart and took the seventh place in Billboard 200, the highest debut for a British female solo singer. (Two weeks later Amy’s record was surpassed by Joss Stone.) By the 25th of October “Back to Black” was certified five-time platinum in the UK. Only one month later it was announced the best-selling album of 2007 and the most popular record on iTunes chart. In May 2007 the leading single of the album “Rehab” (N7, UK) won an Ivor Novello Award for Best contemporary song. On June 21st, a week after Amy’s life performance of the song during 2007 MTV Movie Awards, the single jumped to the ninth place on the US chart. The second single "You Know I’m No Good" (with its remix version featuring the American rapper Ghostface Killah) reached the 18th place of the UK chart.

Amy Winehouse, the singer, who never had pity for herself was found dead in her apartment in London on July 23rd 2011. Her body was discovered by ambulance officers who were called by someone, maybe by herself.
Fans and celebrities all around the world responded quickly to the sudden death of Amy Winehouse in Twitter and other social networks. Universal Republic label said in a statement on the death of their performer “We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer.”
On Wednesday September 14, 2011 was released the last record of the British singer Amy Winehouse "Body and Soul". According to the record company Sony Music Entertainment, this duet with Tony Bennett was recorded in March 2011 in Abbey Road Studios (London).
"We had a wonderful time together in the studio, and I know that Amy was very happy with this record" said Tony Bennett. She loved this song. Amy Winehouse was also excited to work with Bennett, as she said in an interview "It could not be better". Single "Body and Soul" was included in a posthumous album "Lioness: Hidden Treasures", wich was released by Island Records on December 2, 2011. This album features unreleased songs and demos picked by Amy Winehouse's family, Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson.
